Having resigned ourselves to not finishing the new hen house, waiting weeks for decent weather to put the roof on, we had rapidly cleared out, moved and cleaned one of the existing houses in a manic rush ready to accept the the hens, knowing we would have to move them, not ideal.  Then, at the last minute, we finally had a dry and still weekend so quickly took the oppertunity to put the roof on, just 48 hours before the hens were due to arrive.  But we got it done and a lovely new home ready.

Ben Whetherden then arrived at 1am and delivered us 350 lovely new Silver Link point of lay hens.  As you can see from the photo, they have settled in really well and, with a bit of coaxing by Lucy, are venturing out to explore.  We are really pleased with the hens, they look great, are growing well and are really calm and happy!
